Event Details:

The use of expert evidence in international arbitration is commonplace - tribunals frequently seek the assistance of an expert to provide an independent opinion based on the facts. The approach to the presentation of expert evidence and its assessment by a tribunal in international arbitration can vary depending on the legal background of the tribunal members and the applicable rules of evidence.

Typically, the parties will seek to select and retain the best possible expert as early as possible. This seminar will provide an opportunity to hear the views of three experts from different industries (oil and gas, construction, and forensic accountancy) who have extensive experience in giving expert evidence in arbitration proceedings. In particular, the speakers will share their experiences of drafting expert reports, being cross-examined, and working with other experts.
